Greetings!

It is with great pleasure that the New England Conservatory Chamber Singers announce their March 15-19, 2013 Mid-Atlantic Tour. The Chamber Singers and I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to an insider view of the steps we take from rehearsal to performance. It is here on this very page you will witness the nuts and bolts, the joys, and sometimes frustrations, of the learning process for these students!
The singers and I thought you might enjoy a peek into the progress of their efforts over the next several weeks as they prepare, and put the finishing touches on, the repertoire for their tour. As weeks go by, each singer will contribute to this blog in their own unique way, via shared thoughts, photo(s), inspirational memes, audio, etc. This blog is not only an opportunity for you, the reader, to introduce yourself to the outstanding musicianship of the NEC Chamber Singers (yes, I am slightly biased in that opinion!), but to also become acquainted with each chorister personally with regard to what they contribute to the ensemble, and who they are as musical humans.
I encourage you share this blog with family, friends, and any aspiring musicians (singers or not) that you may know. All of the students within the NEC Choral Department are advocates of musical education; they continually seek to share their knowledge and talents with those willing to collaborate, and to inspire other musical leaders.
Below you will find the dates, times and locations for the tour performances. Please, join us! But don’t worry if these dates are not compatible with your schedule; you can always catch the Chamber Singers, and the NEC Concert Choir, at their March 7, 2013 collaborative performance with the NEC Wind Ensemble of Honegger’s King David at the Church of the Covenant in downtown Boston at 8:00pm, or, the choirs combined final performance at NEC’s Jordan Hall on Monday, April 29 at 8:00pm.
